CSJ - ‘friends for life’ with Berkshire Search and Rescue Dogs charity

CSJ Specialist Canine Feeds are delighted to announce their sponsorship of Berkshire Search and Rescue Dogs, the volunteer search dog group on call 24hrs a day, 365 days a year.

 

Berkshire SAR Dogs relies on donations to stay running and exists to assist Search and Rescue Teams, the Police and other emergency services in locating lost or missing persons.

 

As users of CSJ products, the team were keen to be supported by CSJ, the renowned British producer of all natural food, herbal products and treats, and will supply CSJ products on their exhibition display stand, along with information and money off vouchers.

 

All the Berkshire SAR team handlers have full time occupations, yet assisted in 41 callouts during 2008.  They have recently been delighted to announce that a member of the team, Search dog Brock has been named as a finalist in the annual 'Friends for Life' competition which will be held at Crufts in March 2009.

'Friends for Life' acknowledges and celebrates dogs that make incredible difference to people’s lives. The competition is decided by the public through an SMS vote.

Brock's handler, Lou Holmes, became involved with Berkshire Search and Rescue at the organisation’s conception in 2002.  Lou now has two level three operational dogs with Berkshire Search and Rescue Dogs and two young dogs in training.

Brock had the first ever Lowland Search Dogs find.  Brock is trained for air scenting and also for trailing and scent discrimination work, especially handy if it’s known where the missing person was last seen.

Brock has a Chief Constable's Commendation.  The only non police dog to ever receive a Chief Constable's Commendation in the Thames Valley area.
