Calm Down! - for bonfire night by Lynda Ward
REMEMBER, REMEMBER THE 5TH OF NOVEMBER
With 5th November looming, now's the time to start sprinkling CSJ's Specialist Canine Feeds Calm Down! herbal supplement on all those sensitive dogs' food.
Many dogs suffer badly from even distant sounds of fireworks and people living in close proximity to others dread the weeks leading up to Guy Fawkes Night – when the loud whizzes and bangs often shatter the evening for as long as 5pm to midnight.
Symptoms of anguish caused to dogs by firework noise can be extreme panting, constant pacing, howling or barking, scraping the carpet or door, refusal to eat or drink, refusing to go outside, involuntary toileting and even running away ……. all causing owners to suffer along with their pets.
Use of Calm Down! has resulted in numerous accolades to CSJ about it's benefits in helping previously inconsolable dogs cope with fireworks (and other stressful situations such as car travel, competitions or shows).
The special blend of herbs in Calm Down! is a carefully balanced combination of
Chamomile, Lemon Balm, Vervain, Lime Flowers and Skullcap and a run down of each explains their individual characteristics:-
- Camomile is valuable in helping support the nervous system. Commonly known as the most popular herbal tea for a "relaxing sleep", Camomile is often used as a 'calming and digestive aid'. It can also help maintain healthy skin.
- Lemon Balm is known for its 'calming' action. It was thought historically that Lemon Balm revived melancholy or in our modern terms "stress".
- Vervain's main property is to help support the nervous system but is also a 'calmer' and can help give the dog a general 'boost'.
- Lime Flowers is used mainly to help support the immune and nervous systems.
- Skullcap can be beneficial for dogs showing signs of excitability and general restlessness.
Calm Down! comes in a 200g resealable tub with spoon and has a shelf life of 12 months.
A calm dog!

Our seventeen month old border collie suffered a couple of bouts of colitis with two vet visits and we could not find a feed to suit her. Contacted Ceri who suggested the herbs Resist and Heal with fish and rice for forty eight hours. We have very much appreciated Ceri's help and sound advice - the pup has not looked back and is now full of health and happiness - at the moment she is being fed Complete Tripe and half the herbs for a little while longer, I would highly recomend CSJ products - the care and advice taken is second to none. Our local stockist Deena Morgan in Newark is also very helpful and supportive. Best wishes for continued growth and expansion.
