Show Handlers

Cheryl Stevenson

Cheryl says, "at her very first show she (Lola – her first Irish Setter) won her class and I was hooked.”

That was back in 1981, after a lady she had met, who had Irish Setters and Field Spaniels, had encouraged her to show Lola and had helped her to trim and prepare her.

The rest, "Is history.”

Lola went on to win dozens of Best of Breeds at Open Shows, a Best in Show at an Open Show, a Group placing and 2 Reserve CCs.

2005 was a very memorable year with wins for:

Misty

  • CC at Irish Setter Association of England Ch. Show
  • Best Veteran in Show at Irish Setter Club of Wales Ch. Show

Morse

  • Reserve Best in Show at Birmingham Gundog and Terrier Open Show

Ellie

  • Stud Book number at National Gundog Ch. Show
  • Limit class winner at Irish Setter Club of Wales Ch. Show

The kennel's biggest success to date:

Lochlorien Sunrise's CC at the Irish Setter Association of England Ch. Show in October 2005

Prior to this Misty had already won a Reserve CC, and won another at the South of England Irish Setter Club Ch. Show in January 2006.

Sadly Misty died in 2007. During her lifetime she won a CC, 2 Res CCs, a Best in Show at a Breed Club Ch. Show and many, many Best of Breed and Group placings at Open Shows

2008 saw the kennel's first Junior Warrant winner…….

Cully – Lochlorien Prime Suspect for Andley (Misty's grand-daughter) won her final 25th point for her Junior Warrant in September and is following in her mother and grandmother's footsteps.

Cully's photo was taken at the Irish Setter Association Ch. Show 2008, having won 2 classes

Cheryl and husband George now own 4 dogs: Morse - Lochlorien Inspector Morse at Andley (Misty's son), Ellie - Lochlorien Miss Marple Cops Andley (Misty's daughter, and a winner of Best in Show at a Breed Club Open Show), Cully – Lochlorien Prime Suspect for Andley (Ellie's daughter) and Rebus (Cully's brother).

Cheryl isn’t alone in her passion for Irish Setters – George is also very much involved and gives CCs and is Show Secretary for the Irish Setter Breeders Club Southern Open Show. Cheryl also trims a couple of dogs for other people, but her time is mainly taken up with work, family, showing and preparing her dogs – she will be awarding CCs for the first time in 2008.

2011 news

Cully has had a very busy year. Not content with gaining her Show Certificate of Merit, she also tested clear for RCD4 (see Animal Health Trust website), and on 3rd October she produced a beautiful litter of 9 puppies by Sh Ch Kerryfair Snowfox! See photo of Cully below with some of her trophies.

More about the Lochlorien and Andley Irish Setters is at http://www.lochlorien.co.uk/

"I have been delighted with the results of feeding CSJ to my dogs. Morse has quite a sensitive tummy and can be a fussy eater, but I don’t have any problems with getting him to eat this and his tummy has been fine. They all enjoy their meals and I think the results speak for themselves. Their coats are in the best condition they have ever been.” Cheryl Stevenson

Heal works! Great value too!

I just wanted to write to say how impressed and pleased I am with "Heal".  My Boxer, Amber has always had a delicate stomach and would often be off her food 2-3 times a week, waking me up in the night to go outside with a gurgling tummy, eating grass and looking thoroughly fed up until late afternoon when she would recover and start eating.

Since starting her on "Heal" she no longer disturbs us at night to go outside and only has a sore tummy very occasionally...maybe once or twice a month at the most, which is a vast improvement!! and means that I get my sleep!!

When I finished the first tub of "Heal" it took me about a month to get round to re-ordering, and during that time she went back to having a sore stomach a few times a week, which just confirmed to me that the herbs really do soothe and calm her digestive system and since starting them again she has been fine.

I am also impressed with the value for money compared to other herbal products. The tubs are massive and last for ages, and smell really nice too.

Many thanks

Susan
