Kerstin Schwarze
Kerstin had a wonderful win in 2010 - winning the North Wales Nursery Final with her Border Collie Ben.
Asked about other memorable successes she says
"I won a couple of prizes with my dog Kliff in Agility.
With my dog Lisa, I have been placed in some Trials. Lisa is a strong bitch (sometimes too strong for trials; she is a good bitch in lambing and is really enjoying to boss our heavy Texel sheep). I had some good runs and wonsome prize money with her.
Bwlch Mac and I were 8th in an open trial. He also won the Bobby Henderson Silver in Scotland 2 years ago for the best looking dog in a dog show – Best In Show.”
Kerstin's current dogs are:
Kliff 14, Lisa 7, Bwlch Mac 4, Ben 2 and Klif, Craig and Peg all 1 years oldfrom the last litter.
Her bitch is expecting puppies in March. She didn't have the funds for an affix when she had puppies the first time but has now applied to the ISDS for the affix BRENIG.
Kerstin describes how she got involved in Sheepdog Trials.......and met her partner!
"I started Agility with my old dog Kliff when he was young. Then I kept his daughter Lisa. She was so keen as a pup, so I decided to buy sheep.
Then I bought Bwlch Mac from Beryl and Glyn Jones. When he was only 9 weeks old he was able to gather about 20 sheep. He is a strong dog - not easy - a fantastic outrunner. I like him a lot, he is a clever lad. To find help and to give him a good schooling. I decided to go to Wales (I'm from Germany) for one year. That was over three years ago. I'm still here, living on a farm with a really good trainer - John, my partner.”
As well as being involved in sheepdog trials Lisa has had a dog school in Germany
The school was especially for young dogs and puppies, starting with them at the age of 9 to 10 weeks. Kerstin says, "It's amazing what a puppy can learn in a very short time.” She went on to say that very often the owners needed help in teaching the dog the commands and good behavior - she enjoyed it a lot. The classes were for one hour weekly for about 10 weeks and by that time most puppies could sit, lie, come, wait and walk on the lead, whilst still having time to play together and learn social behavior.
Kirsten's old dog Kliff was always with them, supporting them.

What Kerstin says about CSJ food (Ceri Rundle's company) ................
"In Germany I fed one of the most expensive dog food. My old dog was sensitive, I never could change the food or else he'd have diarrhea and an upset stomach. Since I'm in Wales I only feed Ceri's food. The dogs have no more problems and a really shiny coat. A lot of people ask me what food I feed them.
Last year my old dog came from Germany. He is 14 ½ years old by now. Since he is here I'm feeding him with Ceri's food. He never had a problem again and with "Get Over!" herbs he is so fine, still going for an over one hour run at the Lyn Brenig. I'm so glad to have him here. My bitch is expecting pups and all will grow up with Ceri's food.”

I won't do that again!!
Hi Ceri,
I thought I would email to let you know I've just put another order through. A friend bought our last bag so we haven't ordered for ourselves for a while.
The reason I am emailing is that we chose to try a bag of biscuits which were not CSJ and were from a local store. I am amazed at the difference in my dog's coat, health and smell (both fur and breath)!
When she was on the CSJ biscuits (probably for the last couple of years), people used to comment on how shiny her fur was. Her stools were always easy to pick up and her teeth were white. She's had ONE BAG (15kg) of different biscuits and her fur is dull and shedding. Her teeth are starting to go brown and she smells like an old dog. I am amazed as she's only 4 years old. I'm just hoping that some of the effects of the last lot of biscuits will be reversible with the CSJ!!
Have other people told you of such a big difference with biscuits? It really does appear that the poor biscuits have aged her! She's even sleeping more and for a border collie you'll know that's unusual in a young dog! It's very strange in such a short period of time. What on earth do these companies use to make them??!
Regards,
Debbie B.
