"Old Champ"

Review: I spoke to Nicki about my two dogs and decided to put my younger dog who was a little over weight after being speyed onto this. She was on a grain free cold pressed and was pooing 4-5 times a day, and they were not always firm. She initially did very well on this and went down to pooing just twice a day and they were much firmer, but I think she became intolerant to maybe the wheat as she started to scratch a lot. I asked Nicki for further advise and transferred her successfully onto the Lamb Senior Lite. I was happy with this food, and would certainly have continued to feed it to my dog if she had not developed an intolerance to it. I do think it was the wheat because her scratching has all but stopped now she's on the LSL. It's certainly worth ago for the price. I will be donating what I have left to my small local independent dog rescue. Thanks CSJ for the advise and help.

"Glad we found CSJ"

Review: I have a rescue Boxer X German Shepherd who recently had pancreatitis and has now developed a sensitive tummy forever. After his vet-prescribed diet we were looking for something better for his breed and needs - I was referred to CSJ by a friend and couldn’t be more happier with the products, delivery and most importantly, my dogs health. His fur is the softest it’s ever been, it’s like he’s drank from the fountain of youth!

"Amazing food for my older lab"
Alan Alexander on 23/6/2024
Review: Been using Csjk9 food for both my labs since they were puppy's but now our older boy has moved over to Old champ and it's still an awesome product. My dog loves the taste! His coat is shinier and softer than ever! He seems to have more energy since switching foods even though he is running about less and was slightly overweight according to the vet.

Review: My 13 year old springer was previously on Champ! Adult so decided to continue in the range as it really suited her and switched to Old Champ! when she was 8. As she has had her walks reduced steadily over the years (much to her displeasure) I was worried about her weight but this has not been a problem at all. Vets are happy, she is happy and so am I!

Review: With my GSD being 6kg over weight and a fellow dog walker recommending CSJ I decided to look into just how good it could be. I contacted the nutrionist and was given me 3 sample bags which were best suited for my dog. I gave my dog each of the sample bags and couldn't believe what I was seeing, saying she loved them would be an understatement. Evening meal times for her would be make up her meal and place it down for her. She would go sniff it then go and lay down until we'd finished our meal and then she would start hers. She would never eat it in one sitting, sometimes not even finishing it. Well that all changed. Out of the 3 sample bags, she seemed to prefer Old Champ so we got her a 15kg bag of it. Now she has Old Champ for her evening meal (til we use the last of what old food she has left). I measure her meal out place it down for her and get my meal. By the time I return with my meal she has demolished hers. I have only owned her for 15 months and I have never seen her get so excited and enjoy her food so much as since she's been getting her new food. Once her weight is back to normal I may try to find a different flavour for her BUT she'll never stop being fed CSJ foods. I would 100% recommend CSJ. It may only look like dried food but it goes down like she's just had fillet steak.

"Great weight control for inactive dogs"
Karen Alford on 15/6/2021
Review: We have a Lab and a Golden Retriever, both were 5-6 kg overweight, for various reasons neither can have a lot of exercise. We have tried many different 'diet' foods to no avail. Most required such a tiny amount that the dogs were hungry and miserable and some diet foods actually increased their weight. Since changing to Old Champ both dogs have consistently lost weight without having to reduce the quantity of food much at all. They have reached their 'goal' weight in about six months. Their coats are in great condition and they have so much energy.

"Another excellent food"

Review: We contacted you when our 12 and a half year old Border Terrier had another dental treatment at the vets resulting in another 10 teeth out, making a total of 20 out in total. Jack usually eats the same as Jazzy our rescue lurcher who you helped us with when we first rescued her and we have never looked back. However we felt the kibble size of the Lamb and Rice (which we have to have because it’s wheat and gluten free for the lurcher), would be too big to eat with hardly any teeth. We contacted you and being your usual helpful self you recommended the old champ as it was a smaller kibble. Jack loved it and has never looked back. Now his mouth is healed he probably could manage large kibble, as he manages most everything else, but he is good on the old champ so we will stay on the old champ. Thank you for recommending two excellent foods that suit my dogs so wonderfully well. We have two older dogs in our house and you would never guess it. They look so well and are quite lively especially at meal times, they love there csj foods. Thank you very much

"Great value for money"

Review: For my 12 year old border collie this food has been exactly what he needed. The low fat content means he can be fed a good amount without gaining weight which was an issue with other brands of senior dog. And the price makes it excellent value for money.

Review: I found CSJ dog food on another website when I was looking to change my dogs food for my (7yr old Hungarian Vizsla & 4yr old Hungarian Vizsla) and came across Csj.i browsed the website to look at different foods then emailed the company as I was looking for a dog food that my dog could lose quite a lot of weight and have tried numerous brands, I got an email back really quickly recommending that I try at least 3 different types of there dog food and sent me 3 samples to choose from as he's also been fussy in the past so i gave him the 3 and he picked Old Champ dry food that was about 4-5 months ago. From then on he has never turned his nose up at it,waits on it at teatime which he's never done and the priority he looked like he was losing wait getting complemented a lot and getting a waist. Yesterday we went to vet to get his annual check up and booster and vet noticed right away he had lost some weight so we took him to the scales and AMAZINGLY he's went from 35.2Kg to 31.0Kg hes lost 4. 2Kg in roughly 7 months as that when he was last at vet but started Csj later I was ecstatic and the vet was very pleased with the weight loss he thinks it could be the most weight loss in the less amount of time at there vets, I was hoping leo had at least 2Kg but not as much as 4.2Kg he's less weight now than he was when he was 4yrs old hes a lot more active, energetic and playful a different dog, we have still roughly got 2Kg to lose but know we can do that in 5 months with the help from CSJ anyway from Audrey & Leo a REALLY BIG THANK YOU to you all at CSJ and look forward to buying my dog food from you in the future THANKS AGAIN

"Old Champ and Pancreatitis"
Joanne Toomey on 6/3/2018
Review: My great dane has suffered 2 bouts of pancreatitis. My vet recommended finding a food low in fat as possible but also keeping the protein low also. After a lot of research I found Old Champ and I have to say it is amazing. He has been great since starting on this food and we have not had another flair up. The food is not only great for his condition but the price is also amazing. I can not recommend this food highly enough for dogs that need a low fat food especially if they've suffered from pancreatitis in the past. It really has been a life saver for me and my boy.
