Agility Handlers

Dave Leach

Dave currently owns 2 Belgian Shepherd Dogs (Malinois)Rusty and Tia  Rusty is 7 years old and in Grade 7, Tia is 4 years old and in Grade 3

How Dave got involved in Agility

Rusty was his first ever dog, and Dave was taking her swimming at his vets when a nurse suggested that he should try some Agility.

He was given the number for Lin at Sunniday Agility and he and Rusty never looked back.

When Dave first entered a show he wanted to give Rusty a good chance so gave up football as he loved the adrenaline rush of running Rusty, plus he says, "She’s always been a committed team member, always turned up on time for training and always gives 110%.”

The most memorable success?

Dave says, "With Rusty, there have been soo many, but I guess the biggest success would have been when we got our third championship ticket making Rusty an Agility Champion.”

So many other successes with Rusty

  • Double World Champion at the World Agility Open 2011
  • World Agility Open Team Pentathlon Gold
  • 3rd in the Senior Stakes at Olympia
  • Her epic run off for 1st place in the ABC Stakes at Olympia in 2008
  • Featuring at Olympia over the last 3 years
  • Crufts for the last 5 years in Singles Agility, ABC Agility and also Breed

Dave doesn’t sell CSJ products but says they often recommend, order, collect and  deliver CSJ food to some people that we train, and adds,
"Since moving Rusty to CSJ her energy and stamina levels are the best they’ve ever been. With her winning all her Championship Tickets making her Agility Champion since switching, combined with a lovely healthy coat I would never feed my little star anything else.”

Emma Sunderland (and Kes and Pep)

You may remember earlier this year you provided me with some advice regarding my agility dog. I asked about adding that little bit of extra stamina and you advised adding some CP Xtra. I have been trying this over the months since and I do feel it has made an improvement. I wouldn't say it is a dramatic change but I feel happier knowing I am giving him that bit more energy.

We have also changed one of our working collies on the farm onto CP24 and Xtra. He is the litter brother to my collie and we felt he was needing more energy and stamina for working. He has never been a speedy eater, he used to graze when he felt like eating. However, since changing to CSJ he has dramatically changed his appetite - he now sits and waits for his food and eats it all in one go rather than grazing. We feel he has better stamina and keeps his weight up better (he used to yo-yo a lot and go quite thin at times on other food).

So basically, an all-round thumbs-up for CSJ!! The dogs obviously like it and I feel better knowing I am giving a good quality food with good meat content and no crappy ingredients!!
