Sheepdog Handlers

Dr Angie Driscoll

“I thought it might be fun to train a working sheepdog.”

That was in 2005 when Angie owned her own marketing consulting company and was working ‘mega’ hours while watching life pass her by.

One day she decided she needed a hobby...

In the back of her mind, she thought it might be fun to try to train a working sheepdog, but had no sheep and had never owned a dog, so isn’t quite sure what put this idea in her head. So off she went and bought a couple of young dogs and got herself out into the field to try to figure out how to train a dog!

Since then...

When asked, Angie says 3 memorable successes spring to mind, “The first was winning my first open trial in 2008 with Meg at a big hill trial in Scotland; the second was making the Welsh team for the first time (with Meg); and third, being reserve Welsh Champion with Meg in 2012.”

Angie now has 12 Border Collies, all working sheepdogs and says that as she is a farmer now most of her activities revolve around sheep.

Being the first woman to win this trial is an honour...

Angie fondly remembers finally winning the Defaidty Hill trial double fetch final in 2015 with Kinloch Sioux after she had been 4th (2014) and 5th (2012), and Kinloch Penny had been 3rd in 2014.

“I use CSJ’s Salmon Oil extensively and my dogs can’t get enough of it. They love it!”

The poo eating has stopped!

Dear Ceri.

I am writing to say a huge thankyou!!!

Our 10month old choc lab has been a poo eater for almost the entire time we have had her (since 8wks old). We have tried everything we could think of seeking support from other owners of dogs that poo eat and vets, nutritionalists and behavouralists - and to be honest, had almost given up.

After speaking to a friend whose dog eats your food, we decided to look at your website and eventually spoke to you on the phone. We talked about our dogs (3 labs - all with different requirements) and home situation, as well as indepth diet discussions, and decided to try your advice (we had nothing to lose as it couldn't be any worse!).

I have to say, we are over the moon to be able to say IT WORKED! (in the first day!!) The poo eating has stopped and her stools have become more normal, and we can now finally begin to enjoy our gorgeous dog.

Thank you so much for treating us as individuals, and following us through a very stressful problem.

We will continue to follow your advice and will be recommending anybody with the same issues to yourselves.

If anyone is reading this and is having the same problem with a dog, dont give up. There is help out there, honest!!

Natalie
