Jon Runbol

Surrey Search and Rescue

"Our primary role is to assist in locating lost or missing vulnerable people within Surrey and its surrounding areas"

Surrey SAR is entirely reliant on sponsorship and donations to exist and carry out its work

About Jon

Jon wanted a new challenge after training his previous Labrador to retrieve game “in the field”. His younger brother had his Springer in training with a local lowland SAR team so naturally search and rescue sounded like a new challenge for both!

Jon’s dog Woody

Woody is a Chocolate – some might say Ginger- Labrador and is Jon’s third Labrador. Woody  qualified as a Level 3 Area search dog some 6 years ago and has attended numerous call outs over those years. In 2015 Woody gained his 5 year service award and a large bone.

"Woody is 7 1/2 years old and still has a lot of energy, more so now as he has a play mate in Buzz a new member to our crew. Buzz, a 6 year old Lab /Flat coat retriever (eating machine) and constantly can be seen hanging off the snout, back legs, neck and ears of Woody. When not on call outs or training Woody’s favourite pastime now is lying in front of the fire during the winter months or jumping in any water he can find during the summer. Woody needed a food to maintain his stamina and Labrador good looks as well as keeping Buzz at bay. Woody has been fed CP24 for a number of years now and loves it, his coat is just great and is commented on regularly, his energies levels are high and stamina excellent. His playmate is now also on CP24 and equally loves his food- what Labrador doesn’t!!”

Lowland Rescue

Jon presently is a National Assessor for ALSAR ( Lowland Rescue), which means that he assesses along with 6 others potential track and path and area dogs, to ensure that they meet the exacting standards set by ALSAR for its search dog assets.

Beverley Guthrie, Scotland

Thanks for the samples , my dogs are well behaved eaters but i was astounded to see them fighting to try to get to Baileys tripe to steal it.

I ordered the tripe from a local supplier and Hi/low and CP21 from your online shop and its been amazing the difference in them all. The girls are on the hi/low with a few kibbles of tripe to stop the stealing and Baileys doing really well on the tripe with no upset tummys  or loose bowels.

For an hour before meal times they would be walking the floor and running to their dish to try to get you to hurry but their new food seems to leave them fuller for longer and theyre not constantly scrounging.

Bailey is actually puting on a little weight with the tripe and looks much healthier. Hes always been scrawny no matter what we fed him and with his tum its been hard to keep weight on him

Thanks for your help. When i order next i will try the oil and treats you recommended!
